madscientistThe mind that envisioned this contraption must have been stretched to the limits of reason. I’m sure it’s a perfectly practical machine but I can’t help picturing it being ridden by Professor Fate.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and Germany in the early 50’s was a place of much necessity. The engineering is clever, but nobody ever said that mad scientists weren’t clever.

With 5 days to go the bid is only $50. With shipping of $150 makes it a tempting auction. Even better, or worst depending on your point of view, the bike is in Stockton CA, only a couple hours ride from here. Without a major shipping charge in the way I may succumb to the temptation.
