City makes progress on bicycle lanes

On Tuesday evening, members of the City Council unanimously approved an agreement with Sacramento engineering group Alta Planning and Design for the development of a Bicycle Master Plan.

Hennepin County hires new bicycle/pedestrian coordinator to plan paths
Minn Post – 1/31/14
Hennepin County has hired a new bicycle and pedestrian coordinator. Kelley Yemen, who has been working at the New York City Department of Transportation, replaces Rose Ryan. She’ll start here Feb. 10. County officials say she also has worked in the private and nonprofit sector working on transportation planning for bicycle and pedestrian projects.

As we move more towards direct member voting, you will see specific rules or combinations of rules put to a vote, and possibly even a mechanism for anyone to introduce a polished rule to be voted upon. This infrastructure requires a huge time investment, and we are doing the best we can to put the pieces in place. More on that in the coming weeks.
