Hall of Fame to induct four

The U.S. Bicycle Hall of Fame will induct four new members this Saturday at UC Davis. There will also be a Road & Track Legends Symposium earlier on Saturday afternoon. The symposium features eight panelists; this year is the third edition of the symposium and will focus on the history of cycling in the 1960s.

Bike sales up $52 million over first nine months

Wholesale sales to bike shops climbed by 6 percent during the first nine months of the year, while unit shipments were up 3 percent, according to Bicycle Product Suppliers Association’s September report.

Candlestick Park rolling out bicycle parking

For the team’s next home game — a Nov. 11 contest against the St. Louis Rams — the 49ers will provide bike racks, the first time that fans will have a legitimate place to park their two-wheelers at Candlestick. The team is still figuring out where the racks will go and how many bikes it can accommodate, but the structures will definitely be in place by game time, spokesman Bob Lange said.

Fort Collins cycle shops mull forming bike cluster

After a whirlwind week in Las Vegas at Interbike, the Fort Collins Bicycle Industry Alliance is assessing the bike conference’s impact and considering forming an official Fort Collins Bike Cluster.
