My third bike-to-work day. Sometimes you have no idea how far you’ve come until you look back over your shoulder. My trip home this year took 34 minutes. two years ago it took 52 minutes and last year’s time was 46.
Riding day-to-day, week-to-week it’s hard to notice any change in performance. Fortunately I’ve been logging my rides since I started riding again three years ago. Back then my lunch-time ride was 5 miles. Now it’s 11.
Why am I telling you this? Because I want to congratulate myself on my progress and maybe even encourage other people to get on their cheap bikes and ride.
In case you haven’t committed all my posts to memory, shame on you, my bike is a cheapo that I paid $225 for, but you can now get it at Walmart for $165. I’ve put over 1500 miles on it with no mechanical breakdowns. Not a bad deal.
One last word to my fellow biked to workers; “RED MEANS STOP!”
